Iouri Kobiako von Gamm has dealt with the exploitation of intellectual property for more than 20 years and counsels both international groups of companies as well as medium-sized and small enterprises specialized in technology. Iouri Kobiako von Gamm graduated with honors in physics at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology ("Phystech") in Russia. Furthermore, he graduated from the Russian State Academy for Intellectual Property (formerly RGIIS).

Iouri Kobiako von Gamm has dealt with the exploitation and obtaining of patents for more than 20 years and counsels both international groups of companies as well as medium-sized and small technology enterprises. He is a German and European patent attorney and founding member of Kobiako - von Gamm Patent- und Rechtsanwaltskanzlei PartG mbB based in Munich, Germany. Before he established this law firm, he worked in Siemens AG's central license department for about 7 years and also for Munich-based law and patent offices specialized in intellectual property for about 12 years.

His scientific work in the field of protection of industrial property was supported by scholarships granted by the German Academic Exchange Service (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst, DAAD), the Daimler Benz Foundation and the Max Planck Society.

General

Iouri Kobiako von Gamm has comprehensive knowledge and expertise in numerous branches, both from the point of view of a licensor and that of a licensee. In his capacity as Senior Licensing Counsel for Siemens AG, he was in charge of a number of bilateral and multilateral license projects and programs in various technological fields, including telecommunications, multimedia, smart homes, post automation, RFID, water treatment, fuel cells etc. Basically, he is familiar with all legal and economic aspects of intellectual property, including infringement and revocation analyses, procedures for the grant of patents, contracts, product and market analyses, antitrust law matters and the purchase, sale and enforcement of industrial property rights. Moreover, he was responsible for the development and the promotion of license projects in interdisciplinary teams and for the coordination of license activities between Siemens AG's headquarters and their license departments in Asia.

Management of international IPR projects

Management of international IPR projects, including but not limited to standard-relevant (e.g. telecommunications, Wi-Fi etc.), IT and automation technologies. Obtaining patents in the fields of standard-relevant technologies and quantum optics (e.g. fiber laser).

Iouri Kobiako von Gamm is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property and authored publications in legal journals and reference books on domain, trademark and patent law.
